Another F1 Racing Achievement
Team Momentus represented the UK at the World Championships, held in Malaysia over the period 18th to 20th of March.
Yes, its F1 racing, but not as you know it.
It’s all in wonderfully detailed miniature, and held under stringent conditions.
Team Momentus, sponsored by RT Promotions, and who won the event at the finals last year, were back to defend their crown. The run up to the competition was extremely manic. With the individual team members now at different locations around the country all trying to study for degrees or A Levels, they found it extremely difficult to get it all together for the much needed practice and training sessions.

The competition was held at the Sunway Lagoon Hotel Resort, a 5* Hotel about 40 minutes from the capital Kuala Lumpur . The competition started on the Tuesday and finished on the Thursday, over the 3 days of competition each of the 25 teams representing 15 different countries in total had to show their portfolio of work, give a presentation to the judges and race their cars in time trials and knockout racing.
The level of work was amazing, each team providing outstanding quality, some would say it was to a professional level and possibly even better! This made the event for all participants nerve-racking as there wasn’t really any team that stood out hugely from the others.
On Thursday afternoon the award ceremony was held and involved many members of the Malaysian Government.
Unfortunately, Team Momentus didn’t bring back the World Championship Winners title this year, but did win the Innovation Award. This award is given for the team that comes up with an idea of something really innovative which has been incorporated into the project, and designing and building their own fully functional wind tunnel to test their cars in most certainly counted!!!
