USB Flash Drives – Advice On Memory Sizes

For most of the Promotional USB Flash Drives, the memory sizes for the chips will be between 64MB – 16GB. The most popular ‘chip’ size being 1Gb. The question is, just how much data will these chips hold? To assist you in the buying process, and for your guidance, we’ve put together some calculations. We’ve based our calculations on the following assumptions: An average text file is 54KB, An average photo file is 1.6MB, An average MP3 music file is 4MB 

  1. 64 MB (1200 pages of text, 40 photos and 16 MP3 music files)
  2. 128 MB (2400 pages of text, 80 photos and 32 MP3 music files)
  3. 256 MB (4800 pages of text, 160 photos and 64 MP3 music files)
  4. 512 MB (9600 pages of text, 320 photos and 128 MP3 music files)
  5. 1 GB (20000 pages of text, 640 photos and 256 MP3 music files)
  6. 2 GB (over 40000 pages of text, 1200 photos and 512 MP3 music files)
  7. 4 GB (over 80000 pages of text, 2400 photos and 1024 MP3 music files)
  8. 8 GB (over 160000 pages of text, 4800 photos and 2048 MP3 music files)
  9. 16 GB (over 320000 pages of text, 9600 photos and 4096 MP3 music files)
  10. 32 GB – We’ll let YOU do the maths!!
  11. 64 GB – With more memory than your average computer – just how BIG do you want to go??
