
1. Re-think you’re branding. Pens have a limited amount of space to customise. Take a long hard look at your logo and consider changing the layout so that it will fit better onto your personalised pen. If your logo is ‘top and tailed’, why not see what it looks like ‘side by side’.


2. Consider how you want people to ‘feel’ when they are given one of your new personalised pens. If you purchase solely on price, and go for the cheapest, is that the reaction you want to see on your customers faces? Take a look at the next goody bag you are given – someone has spent their money on the pens inside, but are they ‘keepers’ or do you simply give them to your kids?

3. Consider how long your personalised pens remain in use by your customers. When the pen runs out of ink, it will be thrown away. So wouldn’t it make sense to purchase a pen that has enough ink, to last longer? 4. Don’t just print your logo, web address and telephone number. In as few words as possible, tell people what your business does. Why? The average Personalised pen has five owners in its lifetime, so the chances are that by the 3rd, 4th and 5th owner, they don’t have a clue who you are, so why not tell them – you never know, they may be a potential client

5. Consider purchasing a customised pen that has the base components manufactured in your brand colours. This isn’t as crazy as it sounds, and as long as you don’t need an ‘exact’ colour match, needn’t be cost prohibitive. Creating a pen in this way is clever -it stands out from the crowd and looks like your own corporate pen, even before we print and personalise it.
